A game finder that asks the right four questions
Most recommendation sites answer "what is the best game?" That question has never helped anyone. The useful question is narrower: what should I play, on the console I actually own, in the two hours I actually have, for the money I'm actually willing to spend. PlayNext is built around those four constraints and nothing else.
The catalog holds 80 games, each one picked, tagged and described by hand. There's no scraped metadata dump and no aggregate review score deciding the order. Every entry carries a length estimate, a set of mood tags, and a sentence written by a person who has played it.

What should I play next?
That depends on four things: what you own, what you're in the mood for, how much time you actually have, and what you're willing to spend. The finder above asks exactly those four questions and returns a shortlist rather than a ranking of the 1,000 highest-rated games ever made, which is never the thing you needed.
How are the games chosen?
By hand. Every entry in the catalog was picked, tagged and written up individually rather than pulled from a scraped database and sorted by score. That's slower and it's the whole point — the mood tags and the length estimates are judgement calls, and judgement is what a review aggregator can't give you.
Are the prices live?
Yes, for PC. Prices come from CheapShark, which tracks more than thirty digital PC stores, and are fetched when you search rather than cached for weeks. Console prices aren't tracked, so console titles show an Amazon link instead.
What does "how much time" mean?
Roughly how long the game takes to finish, or to feel done with if it has no ending. Short is under 8 hours, medium is 8 to 25, and long is anything past 25. It's a guide, not a stopwatch — how you play changes it enormously.
Can I install PlayNext on my phone?
Yes. On Android, tap Install in the top right. On iPhone or iPad, tap Share in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. Either way it opens full screen like an app and works offline for pages you've already visited.
How do I find new games?
Set the release filter to "New — last 2 years", or open the new games page. Both cover anything released since 2025. New releases are rarely discounted, so the price filter and the new filter fight each other — widen the budget if a search comes back empty.
What does "my games" do?
Mark games you've already played and two things start working: they stop appearing in your results, and the finder can rank the catalog by how closely it matches what you've picked. The list lives in your browser only — there's no account and nothing is stored on our side, so clearing your browser data clears it.
